北京快3线路 www.4w1e.cn A total of 15 PhD researchers from China were nominated for the 2017 award, of whom 4 finalists were selected by an independent jury to present their work at the DSM Symposium during the 13th CNS (Chinese Nutrition Society) National Conference in Beijing on 23 May 2017. The grand prize winner was Chen Wen, who was recognized for the exceptional contribution of her PhD research to the important field of human nutrition for children.
A total of 15 PhD researchers from China were nominated for this year’s award. After review by a pre-selection committee, four nominees were invited to present their research at a CNS-DSM Nutrition Science Young Scholar Symposium held during the Chinese Nutrition Society conference. The nominees were judged based on both the connection to the human nutrition science theme and the quality of their scientific research.
2017 winner: Chen Wen
Chen Wen, from Tianjin Medical University, received the award for her PhD research on the iodine nutrition of children from areas with varying iodine levels in drinking water, which she conducted under the supervision of Professor Wanqi Zhang. The outcome of her research has the potential to establish the upper safe intake levels of iodine for children and to guide their iodine fortification in China and beyond.
In 2016 we granted the award to Dr. Hongbo Yi for his Ph.D. research on “Effects and Mechanisms of Antimicrobial Peptide CWA (Cathelicidin-WA) on Intestinal Inflammation and Intestinal Barrier Functions in Weaned Piglets”, which he conducted under the supervision of Professor Yizhen Wang.

Nominations were open to PhD students and all those who recently received their PhD. Candidates had to be nominated by their PhD supervisors (one nominee per supervisor).
The grand prize winner received a cash prize of RMB 25,000 (approx. € 3,000) and the three runners-up each received RMB 10,000 (approx. € 1,200).
